The Faculty of Law of Ghent University (Belgium) has a vacancy for a full time (100%) tenure track professor in the Department of Legal Theory and Legal History in the fields of legal theory and legal philosophy. The appointment will be made in the rank of lecturer, starting from 1 October 2012.
This full-time position is a tenure-track temporary appointment for a period of five years, at the end of which a tenure decision will be taken as full-time Professor in the rank of Senior Lecturer (hoofddocent), depending on an overall positive evaluation of the candidate.

Starting pay will be at the minimum of the scale per Government Circular E100/8/82. Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current or previous service in the public sector (including Teagasc).

Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy.


The post-holder will be involved in a range of projects spanning the research activities of the CVR and will work as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide skilled training, development, application and management of large data sets. More generally, the post-holder will be expected to provide assistance with data access, analysis, presentation and interpretation of bioinformatic data to all members of the CVR.
